about
The first EP of Zoro Cane as a Band was independently recorded, produced and published through Munich’s ‘Schaufel und Besen Records’ label. It showcases the new, different, unique sound and style of the band. The mood of the record dictates an unmistakable attitude with its four songs, each conveying a part of the band’s perspective on the theme surrounding the album – the search. Search for something greater, for answers, one’s place in the world and in life, reliability and the next challenge.
‘Selfish Stick’ illustrates our ambivalent, somewhat toxic relationship with social media, and seeking attention from people we do not know or like, asking the critical question – why? Perhaps the answer is hidden somewhere along the lines of this otherwise seemingly happy and dance-sounding song.
lyrics
Who do you wanna see
I wanna see me
I want to go places, see what no one gets to see
But I do need no one, as far as I’ve got me.
I want to show the world, a little part of me
Not to see it through my eyes, but to look at me.
Who do you wanna see
I wanna see me
I publish only what I see, yeah people get a chance to see me
Promoting travel, life and sea – oh it’s so good to be me.
Write my story through the lens, you can love me in a glance
Look also what I have eaten, my plate so tidy none I have bitten.
Who do you wanna see
I wanna see me
When I hear I have your like, my heart erects in full delight
And when I see you heart me, I wanna show you more of me.
Here’s my face to the world, my view is narrow, life is good
And when I hear the clock tock-tick, I’m gonna click my selfie stick.
Who do you wanna see
I wanna see me
