about
The first EP of Zoro Cane as a Band was independently recorded, produced and published through Munich’s ‘Schaufel und Besen Records’ label. It showcases the new, different, unique sound and style of the band. The mood of the record dictates an unmistakable attitude with its four songs, each conveying a part of the band’s perspective on the theme surrounding the album – the search. Search for something greater, for answers, one’s place in the world and in life, reliability and the next challenge.
‘Tradition’ is pure rage. Rage against the strikingly usual ‘We have always done it that way’-statement, celebrating such traditions as hate, sexism and bigotry. Who finds him-/herself angry about these common traits of society, will definitely find a way to channel those emotions through this track.
lyrics
Tradition, stay in the kitchen,
X-ray vision, television
Always worry about division,
Coalition through submission
Find a nice girl, be a man
Take your life in your own hands
She will cook and she will clean
She’s to love you by all means
Provide for her, show you can
Push it through, be a man
Critics, stay out of this,
Don’t make my life, a formality
Do not bother with my mission,
We don’t share that vision
So what if a girl, what if a man
So what if living life out of my hands
Know to cook, don’t have to clean
Don’t need love by any means
Be myself, I know I can
Either woman, or a man
Cynicism, model village
Making copies by your image
Point finger, shake your head
Look behind, not ahead
Black and blue is your schism
Bigotry and criticism
Twisted view through narrow prism
Living in own self-prison
Full of fear your redemption
Equality through oppression
Systematic your aggression
I wish you no succession
